The Venefit procedure, previously known as the VNUS Closure procedure, is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment option for patients suffering from varicose veins. This procedure utilizes ultrasound imaging and radiofrequency energy to collapse and seal diseased veins, improving the skin’s appearance and minimizing varicose vein-related health issues.
During the procedure, a small catheter is inserted through an incision made near the affected vein(s). Once the catheter is in place, radiofrequency energy is introduced into the damaged vein, causing it to shrink. The catheter is then removed, causing the vein to collapse and seal shut. The Venefit procedure typically results in little to no scarring, very little downtime, and long lasting relief from symptoms.
